1. Chokling Monastery in Bir Billing

Chokling Monastery, located in the heart of the Tibetan Colony in Bir Billing, and it has truly a breathtaking view. The vibrant white and bright colours of the monastery has absolutely stunning, and the statue of Padmasambhava and stupa are truly impressive. The surrounding views were equally breathtaking, and visitors  finds themselves  taking endless photos of the lush green lawns and colourful flags fluttering in the wind. 2. Kareri Lake

Besides being a prominent sightseeing spot, Kareri Lake is a popular trekking spot in the Dhauladhar range. Kareri Lake is a beautiful shallow freshwater lake located in the Dhauladhar field. It's about 9 km northwest of Dharamshala in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. The water in this lake has been obtained from the melting of snow, and this lake's Kaif is shallow, so the water visibility is very high. Most backpackers travelling to Himachal Pradesh come for the Trind or Indrahar Pass Circuit Trekking, a short trek to Karari Lake that offers a spectacular and serene experience.

The weather of Bir is delightful throughout the year, so while enjoying this pleasant weather, visitors can go for a walk in the tea garden here.  Among several tea factories, the Bir Co-operative Tea Factory Limited near Bir Billing Bazaar is one of the biggest and most famous tea factories.  This factory also helps take the tourists inside its premises and provides them with the necessary information. 

4. Bir Bazar

Bir Billing Bazar or Bir Road is a small lane market in Bir Billing, from where visitors  find clothes and gift shops. They can also find some restaurants along the street selling street food. From where they can indulge their tummy. Apart from these, many shops in and around Bir rent out bikes to tourists.

Baijnath Temple situated in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh holds a religious significance among the people of the Hindu religion. It was built in 1207 AD by Ahuka and Manuka, devotees of Lord Shiva and local merchants. 

6. Gunehar River 

Gunehar is truly a beautiful and serene village that's nestled along the banks of the stunning Gunehar River. Best Time To Visit

The best time to see Bir Billing is from April to June, i.e. summer. It receives heavy rainfall during the monsoon season and can be prone to landslides and winters with temperatures below zero. October and November are autumn, and March to May are ideal for paragliding. 

How To Reach

When traveling to Bir Biling, keep in mind that there are no direct railway or air routes to the town. However, Pathankot Railway is well-connected to major cities across the country, making it a popular choice for tourists. In addition, Dharamshala Airport nearby offers flights to Delhi and Kullu. After arrive in Pathankot, visitor can conveniently take a taxi or bus to reach Bir Billing. If someone coming from far away, there are various other transportation options available to assist you in getting to Bir Billing.

1. Bir Billing by Flight 

It would be great if there were direct flight options to Bir city. The Kangra Airport seems to be the closest airport to Bir Billing, located about 67.6 km away. Other airports in the vicinity include Chandigarh (290 km), Amritsar Airport (260 km), and New Delhi (520 km).

2. Bir Billing by road

Regular bus services run to Bir Billing town. Buses can be taken daily from places like Shimla, Dharamshala, etc., day or night. You can even take a shared taxi or cab to get here.

3. Reach Bir Billing By Train

In terms of the nearest railway station to Bir, Ahju Railway Station would be your best bet, as it is only 3 km away. Another option would be the broad gauge railway station at Pathankot, which is located approximately 142.2 km from Bir Biling.
