Bhabanipur Shaktipeeth/ Aparna Shakti Peeth - How to reach

Bhabanipur Shakti Peeth has located in the Bogra district of the Rajshahi division of Bangladesh. Here, the Kalash has worship during Navratri. This Bhabanipur temple, situated on the banks of the Karatoya River, has counted among the 51 Shakti Peethas of Hinduism. 

Infrastructure

According to Shivashish Poddar of the temple management committee, King Ramkishan built 11 temples between the 17th and 18th centuries. Then he also got this temple renovated. Bhabanipur Shakti Peeth has spread over an area of about five acres.

Myth

It has believed that the Goddess Sati's "anklet of the left leg" had fallen here. Animal sacrifice is also made here on Mahasaptami, Mahaashtami and Mahanavami.

The name of Bhairav in Bhabanipur Shakti Peeth is Vamana. The Aparna form of the Goddess worshipped in Bhabanipur Shakti Peeth. The meaning of Aparna has dedicated to Lord Shiva. Bhairav is also there along with the Goddess on every Shakti Peeth. Regardless of the religion, Bhabanipur has been a significant destination for Hindu pilgrims due to its reputation as a Shakti Peeth.

Goddess Maa Bhabani, Maa Durga, is a powerful form of Bhabanipur Shakti Peeth.  In this temple, a Kali idol has worshipped instead of a Bhabani idol.

Bhabanipur Shakti Peetha has linked to several legends. It is said that Maharaja Ramkrishna, the grandson of the King of Nator, liked to meditate close to this temple. The chair, the yagna kunda, and the five skulls they were renowned for worshipping are still there.

Another famous legend is that a poor conch shell bangle merchant once saw a young girl asking for conch shell bangles near the temple. That girl asked the bangle seller or bangle seller to go to Rajbari to sell the bangles. When Rani Bhavani came to know about the incident there was no young lady in the royal family, so she personally went to the place. Then the lady selling the bracelets realized that she was none other than Goddess Bhavani and prayed to appear to her. Eventually the goddess came out of the pond water, her arms laden with conch shell bangles and blessed everyone.

Worship at the temple

 There is a tradition of aarti three times a day. The morning aarti is called Balya Bhog. Afternoon Aarti is performed, and in the evening, Mahabhog is offered. Kali is worshipped here on regular days. But there is a tradition of Kalash Puja in Navratri.

How to Reach Bhabanipur Shaktipeeth/ Aparna Shaktipeeth: 

1. By Bus

The location of the Aparna Devi temple is 28 kilometres from Sherpur or via the Ghoga Bot-tola bus stop on the highway. Additionally, there are a lot of local vans that transport visitors to the temple. 

2. By Railway

 The closest station is Santahar, 77.2 km from the location.

3. By Airport 

Bogra Airport is 30 miles away. The distance to the temple is about 60 kilometres from Sherpur.
