Buddha Purnima: Gautam Buddha Jayanti

Buddha Purnima signifies the birth, enlightenment, and death of Gautam Buddha, which is also known as Buddha Jayanti or Vesak. It falls on the full moon day in the month of May. Buddhists visit temples and listen to the teachings of Buddha. Caged birds and animals are bought and set free in front of the Buddhist temple to symbolize the love and care towards living beings.
